This, the second edition of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology (A Volume in the Series Foundations in Diagnostic Pathology), represents (we hope) a significant upgrade to what was already a useful “day-to-day” text for practicing surgical pathologists and trainees. While we have endeavored to keep key elements of the first edition, such as the Disease Fact Sheet and Pathologic Feature boxes for each major disease entity of bone and soft tissues (covering the essential clinical, radiographic, and pathologic features of each entity), we have revised the entire chapter structure to reflect the many exciting advances in our understanding of the molecular genetics and classification of bone and soft tissue tumors which have transpired over the past several years. Sections on many new, clinically relevant entities have been added, as have a very large number of high-quality gross photographs and photomicrographs, emphasizing the most salient diagnostic features of each entity. Throughout, we have endeavored to focus on practical diagnostic issues while maintaining sufficient clinical information to allow the pathologist to participate fully in the multidisciplinary care of patients with tumors of the musculoskeletal system. -- Publisher

Os - Tumeurs

The second edition of Dorfman and Czerniak's Bone Tumors brings together the latest data available on bone tumor pathology, making it the most comprehensive and encyclopedic reference on the epidemiology, clinical, pathologic, and molecular aspects of bone tumors. Now offered in full color and featuring updated imaging throughout, this one-of-a-kind resource provides a highly visual review of every disorder — from the common to the rare.

New to this edition:
• Expert Consult eBook version included with purchase. This enhanced eBook experience allows you to search all of the text, figures, and images from the book on a variety of devices.
• Four brand-new chapters cover Radiographic Imaging of Bone Tumors; Hematopoetic Tumors; Neural Tumors; and Metastic Tumors of Bone.
• Includes information on molecular and genetic aspects of bone tumors from the UCSC Genome Browser, the Catalog of Somatic Mutations in Cancer, and the GeneCards Database of human genes.
• Features comprehensive data from nearly 30,000 benign and malignant primary bone tumors and tumor-like lesions from different sources, including over 8,400 malignant bone tumors from the National Cancer Institute's Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Result project.
• Provides an enhanced visual understanding with updated radiographic imaging and new full-color, high-quality photomicrographs.
• Updated Molecular and Epidemiologic diagrams added to all new chapters.

Os - Tumeurs

Bone Cancer: Bone Sarcomas and Bone Metastases - From Bench to Bedside, Third Edition comprehensively investigates key discoveries in the field of bone biology. New aspects of bone cancer biology are treated in new chapters covering exosomes, autophagy, and metabolism. These have led to the development of entirely new areas for investigation, such as therapies which combine surgery and biological approaches. The Third Edition expands on the original overview of bone cancer development (physiology and pathophysiology), with 40% new material. Each chapter has been written by internationally recognized specialists on the bone cancer microenvironment, bone metastases, osteoclast biology in bone cancer, proteomics, bone niche, circulating tumor cells, and clinical trials. Given the global prevalence of breast and prostate cancers, knowledge of bone biology has become essential for everyone within the medical and cancer research communities. Bone Cancer: Bone Sarcomas and Bone Metastases - From Bench to Bedside continues to offer the only translational reference to cover all aspects of primary bone cancer and bone metastases. This revision opens the door to myeloma with two short chapters dedicated to this bone-associated disease.
