Vascular dementia is the second most common cause of dementia depending on geographical location, it accounts for 10-50% of cases of dementia. In recent studies the frequency of vascular dementia has been found to be higher than expected. Because vascular causes of cognitive impairment are common, may be preventable, and may benefit from therapy, early detection and accurate assessment of vascular cognitive impairment and vascular disease are important challenges for the practicing clinician. This book helps to address those challenges.
